Career Opportunity
The Houston Health Foundation is seeking a dynamic leader to accelerate the development, growth and adoption of the Basics Houston citywide. The Basics is a nationally-recognized initiative with the goal of empowering families to care for and cultivate healthy beginnings for their children. The successful applicant will demonstrate proven leadership and successive levels of responsibility in the fields of early childhood development, education, maternal-child health, or relevant sectors of public health practice.

Prior to her arrival, Robin was instrumental to the development of Greater Houston Healthconnect, Houston's regional health information exchange (HIE). In her role as Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), Robin helped Healthconnect grow from a fledgling startup to become one of the country's largest and most successful HIEs. Healthconnect has been adopted by virtually all the major health systems within the Texas Medical Center (TMC).
A native Houstonian, Robin began her career in the TMC, where she served in some of nation’s leading healthcare institutions. She was Assistant Vice President for Strategy and Market Development at St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital, leading initiatives in strategic planning, network development, market research, service line management, and the creation of the organization’s first physician management services organization. As Director of Planning for Hermann Hospital’s Affiliated Hospital Systems in the 1980’s, she directed planning and marketing support services for small and rural hospitals.
Robin has worked for healthcare organizations and academic institutions in the Middle East, where she served in a development capacity for the Faculty of Health Sciences at the American University of Beirut and also consulted with hospitals in Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, and Kuwait. She has a Master of Health Science degree from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in Baltimore.
Prior to the Foundation, Cydney was the Community Outreach Coordinator for 6 years at another local non-profit where she grew the volunteer database from 500 to over 2000. She worked on alll special events and was responsible for publications, building awareness of the mission through social media and other web base sites.
Cydney is currently the Vice President of the Houston Association of Volunteer Administrators and serves on the Medical Center Advisory Council.
