Clear Vision for a Brighter Future
See to Succeed
Helping Children to Succeed With Good Vision
See to Succeed is the Houston Health Foundation’s signature Brilliant Futures program.
See to Succeed works with over 16 Houston-area school districts in improving the academic performance and social well-being of the region’s most vulnerable children with a vital tool for lifelong health: Eyeglasses.
How does the program work? Children aged six-to 18-year-olds are bused by their school district to receive a free comprehensive eye exam during one of several one-day clinics at See to Succeed’s eye clinic at the West End Multi-Service Center in Houston or a large event space close to their school.
Succeed to Succeed has been shown to boost school attendance, student conduct, grades, and standardized test scores.
“We have always struggled with providing glasses for our students, for our families who do not have that income to purchase those glasses, so we have worked with See to Succeed. They are a wonderful partner, and we appreciate every pair of glasses that they provide our students, but above all, the best thing is the smile and excitement you get from each student.” – Dr. Troy McCarley, Associate Superintendent PISD
